Combat sports star Sammy-Jo Luxton was in need of some help from her fans as she asked them if they would aid her with a weight cut, to which she received plenty of responses
Sammy-Jo Luxton took to social media as she asked her fans if they’d help her with a weight cut which inevitably led to quite a few risqué comments.
The Muay Thai star, who recently made her boxing debut earlier this year, has exploded in popularity thanks to her online profile, which has seen her post quite revealing snaps.
Nearing 50,000 followers on both Instagram and X, Luxton has capitalised on her rise in fame which has helped her professional career as she announced earlier this year that she’d signed to PFL – the same organisation that houses Jake Paul and former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou.
In the sport of MMA and boxing, which the 24-year-old competes in both, weight-cutting has long been a part of the fight journey.
It’s an arduous process and one that requires a lot of help from a fighter’s team and, in Luxton’s case, she’s approached her loyal legion of fans to help her with a weight cut.
Posting both a curvy snap of herself and a lean one on X, she captioned the post with a question to her supporters: “Curvy / Lean Would you help me weight cut?”
The post, which has been seen over 520,000 times since Saturday (September 9), received a fair amount of responses, as expected, with one fan suggesting: “We can do cardio daily”.
Some comments were more crude than others as another wrote: “I mean Sєx is one of the best ways to burn calories,” while a third X user commented: “Together we would burn far more than any sauna”.
While Luxton was set to make her PFL debut later on this month, a diagnosis with cancer scuppered her plans as she posted a statement on social media last month.
“You may have seen I’m not on the Paris PFL card, unfortunately I haven’t been well and got diagnosed with melanoma.
“The lesions are on my feet, so unfortunately after the surgery I won’t be able to kick or grapple until healed.
I am truly gutted as my whole year has been preparing for this moment; for something out of my control to take it from me.
“Just viewing this part of my life as another opponent to beat and hopefully I can get the clear to fight in December on the Dublin card!
“I am gonna be spending some time with family and close friends for now, but I’ll keep everyone updated. Sammy-Jo xxx.”
The Paris event on September 30 will be headlined by French MMA star, Cedric Doumbe, who’ll be making his long-awaited promotional debut since signing with PFL earlier this year.
