The One Where Jennifer Aniston Has a Glow-Up: Check Out All of the Actress’ Iconic Looks Over the Years!

In her 50s and fabulous! Jennifer Aniston has been serving us some serious ~lewks~ since the early 90s. Whether she’s rocking “The Rachel” or a more modern cut, the actress can pull off just about anything. Sigh. Must be nice, huh?

When it comes to fashion, Jen has proven time and again that a black dress is her absolute favorite item of clothing. As far back as 1995, the Friends star was wearing the look to red carpet events. Flash forward nearly a decade and she donned a simple black slip dress for the 2004 premiere of then-husband Brad Pitt‘s film Troy.

Jen wowed in a super Sєxy black gown at the 2017 Oscars. At the age of 48, she was still in such amazing shape that the stunner pulled off one of her most amazing looks ever. The We’re The Miller’s star wore a black sequined Atelier Versace gown with a deep plunging V-neckline and a left side slit that came up to her hip. After over two decades of mᴀssive stardom, a black dress continued to be Jen’s go-to look.

Black also helps keep things simple and clean, as that’s been Jennifer’s style aesthetic she’s found her way to being one of Hollywood’s best-dressed women. She wore a plunging, black sleeveless jumpsuit to the 2021 HBO Max Friends reunion special. At the age of 52, Jen looked sensational … and her yoga-honed body looked just as fantastic as when the show debuted in 1994.

In addition to her fashion sense, Jennifer’s blown-out, golden highlighted locks are some of the most enviable tresses in Hollywood. Her longtime hairstylist Chris McMillan is known for creating “The Rachel” hairstyle in the mid-90s. Jennifer absolutely loathed the choppy layered bob, which became a worldwide hairstyle sensation after she debuted it midway through the first season of Friends.

Jennifer told Allure magazine in 2011, “I love Chris, and he’s the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look. How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen.”

The actress also hated how long it took to get the style just right. “’The Rachel’ was high maintenance,” Jen told Marie Claire. in 2013. “I’d curse Chris every time I had to blowdry. It took three brushes — it was like doing surgery!”

The Morning Show star ended up growing out “The Rachel” and has stuck primarily with a longish, blown-out straight style over the years. Sometimes she’ll rock her tresses with beachy waves, while occasionally adding a touch of curls. But Jen’s soft, straight golden locks have become her trademark look, as seen above in 2020 while wearing — what else? — a little black dress!

Rachel Green, is that you? The A-lister was just 26 years old in 1995 when she catapulted to fame on Friends, which debuted on September 22, 1994.

The brunette beauty may not have starred alongside Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger in Jerry Maguire, but she *did* attend the premiere looking hella chic in glᴀsses and a leather jacket.

The girl next door! Jen wore a different set of specs to the premiere of Good Will Hunting on December 22, 1997. Just months later, she would go on her first date with Brad Pitt.

The 90s called and they want, well, everything back! From the updo and the heels to the tiny bag and the dainty jewelry, we’re being transported back in time, y’all.

Jen was just four months shy of her wedding to Brad in March 2000 when she attended the SAG Awards. She opted for a slinky LBD and swept-back hair. Hubba, hubba!

In an interview with Rolling Stone, she admitted that her friends worried Brad would be a “conceited f–k” at first. Awk! However, they quickly came around. “You know, if there’s ever an argument, it’s not like you can go, ‘Screw you, I’m outta here!’ You’re there for the long haul,” she said about marriage. “It’s a beautiful thing to actually realize that for the first time, to have that knowing. It takes the heat and the weight out of things.”

No shade, but The Morning Show star loves to wear black and TBH, we can’t say we blame her. That said, we were thrilled to see her in this form-fitting number at the Warner Brothers Emmy afterparty in 2000.

If you got it, flaunt it. Right, J? She showed off her, ahem, ᴀssets at the 75th Anniversary Celebration of NBC at Rockefeller Plaza on May 5, 2002.

Tan but not bland! Jennifer kept her hair sleek and simple with this below-the-knee dress and strappy metallic heels at the Hollywood Film Festival Gala in Los Angeles on October 7, 2002.

Leave it to Jen to look amazing on the red carpet … while using a cane! Right before the People’s Choice Awards in 2003, the star broke her toe and needed a walking boot. Still, she managed to stun in a plunging blazer and diamond choker.

Along came Jen! She rocked a new ‘do at the Along Came Polly premiere in Los Angeles on January 12, 2004.

Greek goddess? Nay! It’s just our girl. She shined bright at the 56th Annual Emmy Awards on September 19, 2004. Though their marriage would end the following year, Brad was also in attendance and they made one stunning couple.

Lady in red! In February 2004, weeks after the L.A. premiere of Along Came Polly, she jetted off to London for the U.K. premiere.

Keep it simple! Jen attended the premiere of Brad’s movie Troy in New York City on May 10, 2004.

She attended the Derailed film premiere on October 30, 2005. Unfortunately, much like the movie, her marriage also derailed. On October 2, the two had called it quits. *Insert crying emoji.*

At the time, Jen told Vanity Fair, “Relationships are two people; everyone is accountable. A lot goes into a relationship coming together, and a lot goes into a relationship falling apart. She’d [her therapist] say, ‘Even if it’s 98 percent the other person’s fault, it’s 2 percent yours, and that’s what we’re going to focus on.’ You can only clean up your side of the street.”

Ironically, Jen attended The Break-Up premiere in L.A. on May 22, 2006 — pictured above.

In 2008, she briefly talked about her split with Vogue. “Well, it was never that bad. I mean, look, it’s not like divorce is something that you go, ‘Oooh, I can’t wait to get divorced!’ It doesn’t feel like a tickle. But I’ve got to tell you, it’s so vague at this point, it’s so far away in my mind, I can’t even remember the darkness. I mean, in the end, we really had an amicable split, it wasn’t mean and hateful and all of this stuff that they tried to create about Brad can’t talk to Jen and Jen can’t talk to Brad because this person won’t allow it. It just didn’t happen.”

She continued, “The marriage didn’t work out … Whoever said everything has to be forever, that’s setting your hopes too high. It’s too much pressure. And I think if you put that pressure on yourself — because I did! Fairy Tale! It has to be the right one! That’s unattainable.” PREACH.

But don’t go feeling sorry for the Murder Mystery star. In the same interview, she cleared up rumors about her love life. “This whole ‘Poor lonely Jen’ thing, this idea that I’m so unlucky in love? I actually feel I’ve been unbelievably lucky in love. Just because at this stage my life doesn’t have the traditional framework to it — the husband and the two kids and the house in Connecticut — it’s mine. It’s my experience. And if you don’t like the way it looks, then stop looking at it! Because I feel good. I don’t feel like I’m supposed to be any further along or somewhere that I’m not. I’m right where I’m supposed to be.”

She added quite possibly the best advice we’ve ever heard from a ~friend.~ “I don’t know. I don’t like girls whining and complaining about wanting a man! I never liked Sєx and the City, the kind of thing where women only feel empowered once they find the man. It is just not up my alley. I don’t believe in it. There is nothing you can control about love.”

Jen went on to wed Justin Theroux in  2016. In 2016, she told Marie Claire: “My marital status has been shamed; my divorce status was shamed; my lack of a mate had been shamed; my nipples have been shamed. It’s like, ‘Why are we only looking at women through this particular lens of picking us apart? Why are we listening to it? I just thought: ‘I have worked too hard in this life and this career to be whittled down to a sad, childless human.”

In 2017, the duo split, but it’s clear they’re still on good terms. In 2019, the 48-year-old wished her a happy birthday on Instagram. “Happy Birthday to this fierce Woman,” Justin captioned the pic on February 11. “Fiercely loving. Fiercely kind. … and fiercely funny.   you B.” Months later, they reunited to say goodbye to the pup they shared together, Dolly.

Jen is seen above looking absolutely “fierce” in a black Atelier Versace gown at the 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars party.

These days, however, J is killin’ the acting game and was recently interviewed by The New York Times.

Jen wowed at the premiere of ‘Dumplin’ in a short, sequined LBD that showed off her toned legs.

“It’s taken time for me to get where I am, and I put a lot of work into my craft,” she said. “I’ve failed. I’ve succeeded. I’ve overcome. I’ve, you know, I’ve stayed around. I’m still here.”

Still here, indeed! We can’t wait to see what projects (and looks) she does next.

Jennifer wowed in a dramatic black Dior gown while attending the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards in 2020. Seriously, is this one of the best dresses she has ever worn?

Still our best ‘friend.’ Jen looked incredible in a plunging black jumpsuit for the April 2021 taping of the HBO Max ‘Friends’ reunion special. At the age of 52, she looked stunning with her tanned skin and golden locks.
